The Influence of Proportional Jitter and Delay on End to End Delay in Differentiated Service Network
نویسنده
چکیده
There exist some studies in Proportional Scheduling Algorithms for Differentiated Service Network which schedules the packets between different classes proportionally based on some metrics as bandwidth, loss, delay. In this paper, the behaviors of RJPS (Relative Jitter Packet Scheduler) and another proportional delay scheduler (WTP), as well as its influence at the Playout Buffer which uses Concord Delay Adjustment Algorithm are examined. Our simulations show that RJPS is more converging and produces smaller delay than WTP via the same network with the same loss rate. Finally, we propose a network using both RJPS and WTP for minimizing the network delay of each class.

A Differentiated Pricing Framework for Improving the Performance of the Elastic Traffics in Data Networks
Rate allocation has become a demanding task in data networks as diversity in users and traffics proliferate. Most commonly used algorithm in end hosts is TCP. This is a loss based scheme therefore it exhibits oscillatory behavior which reduces network performance. Moreover, since the price for all sessions is based on the aggregate throughput, losses that are caused by TCP affect other sessions...
متن کاملNew Scheduling Algorithm for Providing Proportional Jitter in Differentiated Service Network
There exist a Model of Proportional Jitter Differentiated Service and Proportional Delay Differentiated Serivce, which provides proportional jitter or proportional delay between different classes. This first approach is very appropriated for high-speed networks because it does not require the implementation of the proportional jitter scheduling algorithms at all the routers in the network but o...
متن کاملA New Algorithm for Guaranteed Delay in DiffServ Architecture
QoS support is necessary for the Internet new applications to meet end-to-end requirements such as bandwidth, delay, jitter and packet loss. Unfortunately, DiffServ architecture can only provide limited service assurance. Thus, a trade-off between simplicity of the implementation and strength of the service guarantees has to be made. In this paper, we have focused on DiffServ architecture to im...
متن کاملExpedited Forwarding End to End Delay Jitter in the Differentiated Services Networks
An end to end (e2e) packet delay jitter has a negative impact on the offered QoS in IP networks. Therefore, in this paper we clarify this passive impact, and discuss the delay jitter that is based on the analysis done in [1]. However, here we focus on the expedited forwarding (EF) class in the differentiated services network (DiffServ). EF flows are represented by renewal periodic ON-OFF flows,...
متن کاملSimulation-Based Performance Comparison of Queueing Disciplines for Differentiated Services Using OPNET
Queueing disciplines have been a subject of intensive discussion and research in the network field for scheduling packets from different traffic flows for processing at a network node (switch or router). Several queue scheduling disciplines have been designed to improve the quality of service for networked multimedia applications. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of four queueing disc...
